R6400 – AC1750 Smart WiFi Router—802.11ac Dual Band Gigabit - want to add a second router

My modem is connected to my AC1750 and is broadcasting a wifi signal across my house.

When I built my house, I had 12 ethernet ports installed across the house and I want to connect them to a second, non-wireless router.

Any thoughts the best router to purchase?

  • A better choice would a high grade gigabit network switch the type used by larger companies they come up to hugh number of ports and handle gigabit speeds no problem most are rack mount design if your plaining 12 runs for now get 16 to 20 port model for just incase you add another run can not hurt to have few spare.

Cisco and Netgear both make good high end switchies check some manage and some unmanaged manage switchies lets you control the switch via a computer to control its ports. An unmanaged is like what you would find at most places that sales network switchies for home user plug them and connect your network and away you go.
