R6400 AC Wifi Router Printing

My Canon D530 will not print by AirPrint through my Netgear R6400 AC router. Printer works via USB through router from the desktop printer just fine. Will not print via wifi from iPad or iPhone.

Genie, ReadyShare, router firmware all up to date. Computer and drivers up to date. Windows 10 system.  Computer will print via router. Compter on enthernet to router. Printer on USB 2.0 connection to router. All other features seem to be OK.

Suggestions please?

  • I apologize. It seems I misunderstood. I thought that if the printer worked via USB to the router, and was accessed sucessfully from my desktop computer, that I could also print via wifi. Must not be the case.

    Thanks, for the clarification.

  • Your printer does not support Airprint, nor, does it look like it supports wifi.

The printer works via USB cord plugged into the wifi router. I does not need to be a wifi printer, it simply needs to work via USB. It does work for the main computer, connected to the same router.

There are Airprint capable printers. Airprint is done via wireless. Usually the printers are Airprint compatible wireless printer.

Is your user manual says your printer is Aairprint capable? Is it wireless printer first of all? Google Airprint , NFC.
