R6400 has NEW HIDDEN NETWORK with V1.0.1.18_1.0.15 firmware
I upgraded my R6400 firmware with the V1.0.1.18_1.0.15 patch a couple weeks ago. I was scanning channels and signal strength and noticed a new SSID in my neighborhood on my channel - "DIRECT-PSSTELLA...
I eventually figured out that this was not being generated by the hotspot. It was being created by my Windows 10 PC and a feature called "Microsoft WiFi Direct." When I evicerated the adapter, the SSID went away too. I'm still wary that something kooky is going on, but for now the rogue SSID is gone.
