R6400v2 - 1.0.4.122_10.0.95 Firmware Upg Adds dnsmasq V2.78 ?
My R6400v2 router is currently running firmware v1.0.2.56
When logged into it it has a message that a new firmware upgrade is available.
Current GUI Language Version: 1.0.2.56_2.1.38.1
New GUI Language Version: 1.0.4.122_2.1.38.1
Current Firmware Version 1.0.2.56
New Firmware Version 1.0.4.122_10.0.95
The release notes for the update from the firmware update assistant has one note in its release notes that surprised me:
10. [New Feature] Updates dnsmasq to V2.78.
I've searched but cannot find any reference to dnsmasq in the R6400v2 except in reference to running DD-WRT in the router.
But why would the 1.0.4.122_10.0.95 update mention updating dnsmasq?
I would like it to be true - I've been running dnsmasq in a LAN server.
Since I am converting my router to DD-WRT and it has dnsmasq fully supported this is no longer an issue.

Pretty sure its just whats built in for its own dns resolver/configuration.
Other than the small amount of front end changes you can see in the gui, there's not much to change.

I'm still not convinced. Why would Netgear be using dnsmasq code that was developed to replace DHCP and name service when they have been using code (like other vendors) that predated dnsmasq?
