R6400v2 red led on Ethernet LED on - no internet -

Cable modem connected to ethernet ports 1,2 or 3 led light stays red. No internet connection on phone, laptop, tv. Desktop hard-wired from ethernet port 4 works fine. Have done a reset, also disconnected power and re-connected with no change. Do I need a new router?

  • What cable modem do you have? 
    Why are you plugging the cable modem into ports 1/2/3? It should be plugged into the wan port? 

    what firmware is on your r6400v2?

      Sorry - I looked at it wrong - cable modem is plugged into WAN port.

        Not being that familiar with routers, etc. I looked at the connections wrong. However, wireless still not working - wireless led is lit dimly but phone, etc. still show no internet connections.
