R6700 Wirelessly and Wired at the Same Time

I have an R6700 Router connected to my desktop computer wirelessly and want to update the firmware with a wired connection.

Can I just connect the wires or must I disable the wireless connection? How would I disable the wireless connection?

Thanks, cb

Sorry for the omissions. Yes - Windows 10 Dell Desktop.

I logged into the router and there was a line that said there is a firmware update available. I clicked on it expecting more info, but it went ahead and did the update. Crazy !!

    Thanks for your reply.

Based on the complete lack of information about "my desktop
computer", should we assume that it's running some version of Windows?

Connecting an Ethernet cable would be a good start.  Windows should
handle most of the details.  You may want to disable the wireless
network temporarily.  Isn't there a wireless-network icon in the tray at
the bottom right of your display?  Otherwise, the Control Panel or
Settings panel should have some network-related capability.
