Resetting WNDR3400 v3 after power outage

Whenever a power outage occurs, the router needs to be manually shut off and restarted. Shouldn't it restart itself once the power returns? It's aggravating because the router is located at my second home and I rely on the wireless service to access my thermostat remotely. And since I don't live there full time, I need to ask my neighbor to restart it, so I'm inconveniencing him as well. Anyone else experience this issue? Any suggestions? Input appreciated. Thanks

It's best that you get a UPS to plug your router for it to stay on.

Thanks for your suggestion. However, I currently have and have had previously other routers that automatically restart after a power outage. Is there a setting or something that can be reset on this router that makes it restart itself after a power outage, rather than purchasing another piece of hardware like a UPS?

      Thanks

There's no setting on the router to adjust or tell that it should restart itself.
