Router without a modem
Does a AC1000 need a connection to a modem to work as a router? I want to connect some networked printers to a computer without a modem and I was wondering if the LAN worked without the modem connection.
Thanks for your help.

"AC1000" is a speed, not a model number. Ever helpful, Netgear
product packaging emphasizes speeds like "ACxxxx", but that's not the
model identifier. Look at the product label for the actual model
number. "R6080"?> [...] need a connection to a modem to work as a router?
No, if your "AC1000" _is_ a router.
If your devices were all configured with static IP addresses, then
you could use a simple network switch to connect them. A router would
(normally) provide a DHCP server, so that could be an advantage over a
network switch.
