The modem has blinking amber upstream but no other lights are on.

Only the power and the upstream light is on for the modem, the upstream light is blinking amber. I am seeing WiFi being provided to my mobile devices but when using WiFi nothing actually loads. I’ve already contacted my ISP and they haven’t been helpful to me at all. I don’t know if this is a modem issue or an ISP issue.

  • Do you have a screen snip of the modems cable connection page and event logs?

Also, check your coax line for kinks, damage, old/bad/cheap/loose/corroded connections. Replace them if there are.

Remove any splitters, amplifiers, or signal attenuators from your line.

The CM500 is a cable modem, no router involved, so not really a suitable subject for a section given over to General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk and Non-Orbi).

That doesn't mean that you won't get help here, just that you won't find much related to your modem around here.
