Unable to connect Netgear AC1200 6150v2 WiFi Extender to Telstra Smart Modem 3

Hi, I had the netgear wifi extender connected to Optus NBN router.  Since changing to Telstra NBN with the Smart Modem 3 router, I have been unable to get the netgear device to connect with the smart modem.

The best I've seen in my numerous attempts is the extender channel enabled but with a message that password which connected to smart modem is incorrect.  I have verified the password multiple time.

If anyone has encountered this issue or someone from networking team can assist that will be great.

Did you set it up using the push button WPS option?

If so, factory reset the extender  and set it up using the installation assistant.

To factory reset, push and hold the reset button for 7-15 seconds while powered on.

Here's a video of how to use the assistant.
