Unable to Login to WNDR4500v2
Hello all:
Starting this thread after searching for this issue and found the link below for NightHawk Router.
My issue is very close the issue as user "Wilddanimiles".
As I am unable to login I don't have the last version that I updated. About a month ago.
I am unable to even reach default the login pages;
192.168.1.1 (my normal entry point)
Message says "This site can't be reached"
Unable to sign in with genie (windows edition or iOS app nor any browser..
Nor any PC or tablet, smart phone, this is after Modem reset and restoral of backup modem configuration.
I was able to get into the modem right after reset restoral. Keeping in mind the
restoral config file was made about 6 months ago in Dec 2018.
I will be testing another reset without reloading the backup config to see if the config file is causing the problem. I do use mac reservations in my normal router usage.
Any thoughts in the mean time will be welcomed.
Thanks

Reset WNDR4500v2 Router
Still not acces after going through steps in manual
and this NetGeard Commuity link If you cannot login to your router
Bottom line: My trusty WNDR4500v2 Router gave up the ghost :smileysad:
It worked just find however would not let me access the admin.
Symptons it became more and more erratic in allowing login until ....no more.
Even after factory reset.
Solution: Tested with spare WNDR4500v3 Router, as soon as it was online I was in setting up
and backing up the config setting file.:smileylol:
It has Firmware Ver V1.0.0.32
Which was updated Dec 2019
It want's to update to a new version Ver V1.0.0.56
I beleive I will wait to and check out any complaints with the new version before upgrading.
Will be pickig up a new Router as a spare soon.
Good investment for me to have purchased a spare right after buying the original.
Thanks again for everyone's input.
Much appreciated

What's the IP address of the computer where you try this?

(connected to the WNDR4500v2)? What is it?Are you dealing with wired or wireless connections to the WNDR4500v2?
(Wired would be simpler.)> I will be testing another reset without reloading the backup config

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for
"Troubleshooting".- slackrlLuminary
Hello antinode:
Thanks for you reply.
Re your questions;
Q. To what is the WNDR4500v2 connected?
Not sure of your question so here goes....
PC is Dell Laptop
Modem is Spectrun Arris Cable Modem DOCSIS 3.0.
Q. What's the IP address of the computer where you try this?
Ethernet adapter Ethernet:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.3
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1Q. A WNDR4500v2 is a router, not a "Modem". Do you have a modem
(connected to the WNDR4500v2)? What is it?My apologies and thanks for the correction I meant to say Router reset and backup config restoral.
Yes Spectrum Cable Modem Arris MODEL: TM1602A
Q. Are you dealing with wired or wireless connections to the WNDR4500v2?
(Wired would be simpler.)Wired to Lan port 1 of Router for this testing procedure.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for
"Troubleshooting".Already have done this. I will look in Troubleshooting "Cannot Login to Router"

Sounds like you've done a bit of troubleshooting already. So it works fine until you load your backup configuration? Narrows it down a bit. Maybe it was corrupted. Let us know how it goes when you do the reset and manual setup. :)

Q. So it works fine until you load your backup configuration?
It seems to be leaning in that direction.
I have Netgear Smart Switchs and am able to login to them just fine via their web interface.
