Using wax610 access point with eax20 extender

TP-LINK wired router connected to Netgear wax610 access point via an Ethernet cable powered by an AC Adapter works flawlessly. When an Netgear eax20 Range Extender is added with same SSID as the Netgear wax610 access point all WiFi connectivity is lost until the Netgear eax20 Range Extender is unplugged. What is the issue??? Why does this happen??? Can the Netgear wax610 access point and the Netgear eax20 Range Extender work together to form a WiFi 6 Mesh network??
Any response would be appreciated.

    Unlikely. I see no sign that the WAX610 is a Mesh device.

     

    Mesh depends on the ability of the Netgear devices to talk to one another in a way that can manage attached devices. Simply adding a device to a Network with the same SSID does not amount to true Mesh.

     

    The EAX20 is a Mesh device, but not the WAX610. How is the EAX20 added ti the network. Wifi or wired?

     

    And it is anyone's guess how they will interact with the unnamed TP-LINK router.

      Ok, so since the Netgear EAX20 Range Extender is not compatible with Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi Access Point, what are the options to extend the WiFi network without having an Ethernet cable connected WiFi device? Will another Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi Access Point work like an extender without a Ethernet?
      Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated.

        I did not say that. What I said was that you won't get a Mesh network. It may well be possible to set up separate wifi networks, or even networks with the same SSID. But they won't be Mesh.

         

        Try your question in the right place and you might get better advice than you'll get from people who understand WiFi Routers.
