WAC510 cannot login after changing the default password for user admin

I tried twice now.

1. open the web interface (using LAN)

2. do the mandatory initial device setup

3. changed the default password for the user "admin"

4. click on "apply" - device redirects me to the login page

5. try to login. Login not possible with user "admin" and the new password (message: "Login invalid")

6. reset the device to factory defaults

7. goto 1.

 

My new password contains characters (lowercase, uppercase), numbers and the "@" char. Length of the new password: 14 characters.

 

Anyone any idea?

  • First of all: RTFM! Chapter "Change the Admin User Account Password":

    The password must be between 4 and 12 characters in length.

    that's really mean. Instead of leaving the hint in the manual, why not adding a simple validation to the web UI?

    Current Firmware: 

    V1.2.5.11
