wifi channel

I have a netgear wifi router model WNDR3700v5   which untill yesterday was working fine ,  it offered 2 channels  from new ,  a 2.4 ghz and a 5ghz.    my set up for the last 9 months has been on the 2.4 channel.   this channel seems to have disapeared from all  appliances that use it , eg my phones,( nothing is now connected to wifi )   the 5 ghz channel remains and i have connected to this with no problems so far.  i have just dl the latest firmware and  installed it .  my netgenie app says the channel is still there  and ok  it just seems to be undiscoverable.  hoping someone has an idea to fix this

    forget the app use web browser and login to router or

     

    Press reset until power LED flashes the default SSID should then be visible ( see router Label ) if not replace router
