Wifi connected, no internet.

I just bought this router today. I have registered the MAC address to my housing unit's internet network, but still unable to access the internet either through wifi or ethernet. Each time I go to the routerlogin.net page, it keeps taking me to the change admin password page. Then when I try to login to the netgear page, it gives me a message that "Serial number has already been registered".

At this point I have no idea what more to do. This was a brand new router so how can the SN already be registered?

What sort of Internet is this? Does it come from a router of some sort?

Have you asked the manager, or other residents, if there are any special settings that you need to use the network?

Don't expect much from the R6120. It is a very basic router. According to Netgear's manual for this device, not always the most reliable source of information, the LAN and WAN support only 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX. That makes it slower than many newer Internet services and most modern network hardware.

If the housing unit's Internet network is faster than 100 Mbps you are throwing away some of that speed.
