Wifi disconnects in Orbi app

Hi

Have just installed Orbi 852, which seems to be working fine. However, whenever I open the Orbi app, my mobile disconnects from the wifi and “connecting to Orbi” appears in a red banner. This may take 30 seconds or so, but can then happen again and again. The wifi is working, unless I open the app when it disconnects.

Any help welcome please.

Thank you
Jamie

    Hi Jamieribolla,

    Good day!

    Welcome to NETGEAR Community!

Thank you for reaching out. That should not be happening. Have you tried reinstalling the Orbi app? How about using a different mobile phones? May we know what smartphone are you using and what software version?

      Hi

Thanks for coming back to me. If I delete the app, do I need to go back through the setup once more with the devices, as that wasn’t too smooth.

I am using an iPhone X, software version 14.6.

I must say reception has not been that great with just the 1 satellite, and I wondered if it was disconnecting wifi because being too far away from a device?

      Any help appreciated.

        Hi Jamieribolla,

Thank you for your response. Reinstalling the Orbi app should not require you to setup the Orbi system again. Have you tried using another smartphones and see if it happens as well? How far is your satellites from the router? How are the satellites being placed?

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need further assistance.

        Regards,
