Sounds like you may be descrbing AP mode? base router<<--ethernet>>>R6400. Is this what you are describing?

Thanks for the quick response.
Unfortunatly I'm not able to get a wired connection to the orgin. I was looking for a way to go base <- wifi -> r6400 <- wifi -> devices.

To configure (Media)Bridge mode on an R6400 (if that's what you have - assuming it's v1) check manual here. Media Bridge mode only allows bridge wifi to the base router with wired clients connected to the far end bridge. Other option is AP mode, which needs Ethernet, which you indicated you can't do. Pages 129-131. If it's v2 check here for manual. the is alway a powerline solution, and configure the R6400 in AP mode. Google (search) powerline. (You would need two powerline devices).
EDIT: you could ty DD-WRT, if there is fw version for your router..

Sounds like what I'm after isn't supported in the current firmware. I'll give DD-WRT a shot. Thanks for the help.
