wireless not working. model wndr3700v2

We have this router and it's kind of old..2011 model wndr3700v2. We've never had problems with it until tonight. It says "internet unavailable for netgear" my phone will connect to the internet, but a few seconds later it will say unavailable. All the lights on the router seem to be right. Anyone know what could have suddenly happened to make it stop working, and how to fix it? Please help!!
  • Yeah when I called support, they said it was most likely a problem with my ip address instead of my router. I don't know if it was just the weather or what, but we had this problem for 3 nights in a row, and all 3 nights we had rain, wind, etc. And since then it has been fine. I do have a desktop computer but it isn't a wired connection, they are on different levels of the house. All wireless connectivity was down/unavailable, and then the very next morning would be back up. And since we've never had any problems before, I would guess it was due to the weather..although at the time I just thought our router was going out or losing connection. I appreciate the suggestions and help, but I think it's solved! Thank you!

    Hello crystalfanning1

    Welcome to the community!

It's possible that the connection from your ISP is intermittent.
How's the connection from a wired computer? Will it experience frequent disconnection too?

Observe a connection from a computer that's directly connected to the router. See if your connection is stable.

Is it only happening on the wireless? If it does, are there any new wireless devices that had been added in your location?

Relocate the router and avoid other wireless devices that may interfere with the wireless signal. Stay away from cordless phones, baby monitors, microwave ovens, etc.

If it's only happening on the wireless, try to change channel on the router. See the steps here.

Power cycle it, if its still the same try a laptop and connect it straight to the modem and make sure your internet is working from internet service provider. If you do  get it working then try and maybe reset the router and see if that fixes things.
