WN2500RPv2 Factory reset now wont see http://mywifiext

Question

So I moved and wanted to reset this up after having used it a few years at my old place. I did the push button factory reset on it and now (as per the setup guide) have connected both wirelessly and wired but neither seem to access when I put in http://mywifiext

I have tried chrome, firefox and edge. I have dissabled all of my firewalls when I try to do this.

I have good LED on power and on the etherenet port I am connected to.

I have tried disabling firest the ethernet and then the wifi addapters to issolate one over the other and neither is connecting.

I am stupped. Should I be throwing this in the trash?

Try this.&nbsp;Factory reset it 1 more time.&nbsp;Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on.&nbsp;Then during setup, hardwire a pc/laptop into it. Disable the wifi on the pc/laptop to ensure it doesn't default back to the wifi.&nbsp;Then try the mywifiext&nbsp; .&nbsp; net&nbsp; &nbsp;(take the spaces out)&nbsp; or try 192.168.1.250&nbsp; &nbsp;(default ip address)

I was not able to get connected to my EX2700 extender using the IP address I know was right as I double check it always from the tablet which is connected to the extender. My router does dynamic addressing and I set the range.

I finely got connected to the extender by using that URL this site doesn't want to be displayed. The one that starts with (mywifi) I didn't change anything, but it connected and worked as it should and use to when only using the IP address of extender which is easy to find. I know I could assign extender an IP, but it is easy to find. I did notice when using that mywifi...... URL browser puts the HTTP:// in front. If I change the HTTP to HTTPS:// with the mywifi.............. I get the same error as when I use only an IP address, which is unable to reach device. Error a little different in all 3 browsers I tried, but means the same.

Now I have to admit my not looking into this enough and the errors I made.&nbsp; I said I knew the IP address (or thought I knew), what I was doing is looking at my Android connection to the EX2700 and clicking on gear and it shows the IP address.&nbsp; Well after pulling my head out and thinking, I said, crap that is the IP address of my Addroid device!!!&nbsp; So I went into router configuration found that to be true.&nbsp; Then looked at connected devices while in router config and EX2700 was really 192.168.1.68.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Now when I first started all this I was using FF and I did try IP ending in 67 68 69 70, but they were erroring because FF is adding HTTPS in front.&nbsp; I have router doing dynamic assigning IP.&nbsp; Perhaps I should use the EX2700 Entender option to assign the IP? &nbsp;&nbsp;So the reason FF won't work it is sticking HTTPS in front.&nbsp; I thought there might be a setting to always try secured connection in FF, but haven't found it yet.&nbsp;Chrome is working fine with IP address only, Chrome is not putting anything in front of the IP address, does add/login.html on end after connected so would guess EX2700 doing that as it paints logon screen.&nbsp;DuckDuckGo does not work and it gets an easy error:&nbsp; It adds HTTP:// in front like this HTTP://192.168.1.68.&nbsp; Then gives this error &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; { "reset" : "1" }&nbsp; in tiny hard to read text.&nbsp;&nbsp;So after all this Chrome does work when I get the right IP address.&nbsp;&nbsp; Using that URL MYWIF......... name that this site doesn't want seen, but is in my manual from Netgear works on all three browsers.&nbsp;&nbsp;Can anyone explain why that URL isn't wanted to be seen on this site?&nbsp;&nbsp;You would think after 36 years of being IT support I wouldn't make these stupid mistakes, but most all my work was on mainframes and I retired in Jan 2004.&nbsp; So I can chalk that up to being an IT dinosaurs and old age.&nbsp; Also been working outside in 103 degrees temp, that is feel like temp really only 95.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
