WNDR3400V3 - Wireless quit working completely

WNDR3400V3, been solid and working for a long time, Home environment, Win8.1.

wifi working ok, updated firmware to 1.0.1.18_1.0.63, was at a very recent level, seemed to go ok, no other changes.

All wifi devices fail to connect, no error msgs, devices connect to other networks.

Both radio leds are lit on the router, recycled wifi anyway, no joy.

Did a hard reset, no symptom changes, acts like wifi function died completely.

Regressed to older firmware version, hard reset, showed update available, downloaded the firmware update again, update seemed ok, hard reset, still no wifi support at all, either radio.

Any ideas? Acts like wifi simply gone. All visual indicators look good. My simply be hardware failure.
