WNDR3400V3, been solid and working for a long time, Home environment, Win8.1. wifi working ok, updated firmware to 1.0.1.18_1.0.63, was at a very recent level, seemed to go ok, no other changes. All wifi devices fail to connect, no error msgs, devices connect to other networks. Both radio leds are lit on the router, recycled wifi anyway, no joy. Did a hard reset, no symptom changes, acts like wifi function died completely. Regressed to older firmware version, hard reset, showed update available, downloaded the firmware update again, update seemed ok, hard reset, still no wifi support at all, either radio. Any ideas? Acts like wifi simply gone. All visual indicators look good. My simply be hardware failure.SolvedR6300v2 and Facebook Wi-Fi
Dear community, I just have bought Netgear R6300v2 to use it in my bar with Facebook Wi-Fi function. The latest available firmware V1.0.4.6_10.0.76 is installed, Guest access is enabled, but every time I click "configure" in Facebook Wi-Fi page, browser takes me to erroneous page: https://www.facebook.com/wifiauth/config?gw_id= After that Netgear Genie becomes irresponsive and only reboot helps to get again into Administration panel. Perhaps somebody can hlep me? I suspect that Facebook has changed the page url for this kind of configuration. What is the right Facebook page link to configure such things? Perhaps it may help. Router is phisically located in Latvia.Serial Number: 44015177012F1Solved9.8KViews0likes62CommentsNo Wifi Connection
The wifi button will not come on. I have connection via ethernet cord but the wifi will not connect. I have reset router and run all tests on the genie. I have not changed any settings. I was given this router by a friend. He literally just bought it and didnt want to go through the trouble of getting it to work or sending it back. (Lazy, rich guy, so he went and bought a new one and gave me this one). Is there anything I havent tried or need to try to get the wifi to work on this dang thing? Please HELP!!!Solvedwifi to LAN bridge
I have recently moved from having a separate office to having one in my rented house. The internet is supplied by Sky through one of their modem/routers and it works...ish. My router is downstairs in the lounge and my office is now shoe-horned into a small upstairs bedroom and I have several devices in the office that are connected to each other via an Ethernet switch (which was fine in the old office where I had direct access to the router's LAN port). I now need to get the switch on the LAN reliably connected to the router. So far I have a mains-routed extender and this works okay but there is a fault with them in that they often lose the LAN connection. It is a known fault that I learned of AFTER buying them. I cannot run CAT5 from the office to the router and I cannot reposition the router. Somehow I need to bridge my office LAN, via WIFI to the Sky router. Buying a new router and associated bits is not out of the question but I have yet to ask Sky for the settings (their router came ready configured). Any suggestions? Steve.SolvedJNR3000: Wired speed fine, Wireless slow download & fast upload
Hi all, Since a couple of weeks I've noticed my Netgear JNR3000, the second router in the household, puts through extremely low download speed but decent upload speed when connected through WiFi; Speedtest gives 0.6 Mbps download, 18 Mbps upload, whereas the wired Speedtest shows 30Mbps/29Mbps as it should. I found these results when there was no other device connected to any of my routers. Also tested with multiple smartphones and laptops. The wireless results are the same everywhere throughout the house, even next to the JNR3000. The router uses the 'latest' firmware (V1.1.0.29_1.0.1), DHCP is activated (192.168.3.x where Router1 operates on 192.168.2.x) and the WiFi security settings are set to WPA2-PSK [AES]. Channel is currently set to Auto and Mode is set to 300Mbps. See the extremely detailed schematic overview below. I've already tried the basic stuff after browsing this forum; a hard reset (30-30-30), changing channels (most importantly a different channel than Router1 operates on, but evading other channels used in the area as well), disabling 20/40Mhz coexistence, Disabling QoS, disabling WMM, Fragmentation Length and CTS/RTS threshold set to 2342, switching Preamble mode to Short (from Long), RIP Direction set to Both and RIP Version set to 1 (although I really don't know what the optimal RIP settings are in this setup), disabling Guest mode (which is activated from time to time), making sure no microwaves etc. are near. Is there any chance of getting back to decent WiFi speeds (such as 20Mbps/20Mbps as it used to be) or is it time to replace my JNR3000? Are there hidden settings in Router1 (Arcadyan VGV7519 aka Experia Box v8) that forbid the JNR3000 from using maximum download speed when connected to WiFi? Thanks in advance, AlexSolvedR6100 Cannot connect with my Kindle
I disconnected everything a few weeks ago to rearrange home office area and everything works fine but my Kindle. When I enter the network SSID I’m also given 5 options for Security (Open is default). The first 3 asks only for password, the other 2 bring up a screen asking for password and identity. I don’t know my identity but in trying the first 3 options several times using my password I get an 'Error in conection' message. Someone else set everything up for me early last year but I’m on my own now with this. Is there someone who can help me with this in simplistic terms?SolvedSome wifi devices cannot connect
Some of our phones, tablets, kindles can connect to our wifi, but ever since the latest firmware upgrade to V1.0.052_1.0.81 most new wifi devices cannot connect. The phones can see the wifi, but it never able to connect. I tried changing the phone IP to static, reseting my phone to factory default but still it does not work. I tried disabling access control, using a guest network, nothing. When i go to access control the router does not even see the mac address of my phone, but with other devices it will show the mac address and give me the option to allow that device. So far an iphone 6 and a Samsung galaxy s5 have been unable to connect (among a number of others). Any ideas? Is my best bet to restore the router to factory default?Solved3.7KViews0likes3CommentsR6400 Networking speeds
good morning all, i have a R6400 router installed in my home and i seem to be having issues on one of my har wire lines i have ran, to note i have ran Cat 5e thoughout my whole house, currently i have about 200Mbps speeds from my modem using Comcast as my ISP, i have my descktop hard wired to router, i have another line plugged into the router that runs to master bedroom (nothing plugged into it on that end) another one from the router to my living room where that line goes into a gigabit switch (in my gigabit switch i have a PS4,a Android TV box, surround sound reciever and tv) and the last port on the router goes down to another switch on my desk that goes to my NAS drive and another bedroom in the house (nothing connected in room) Ok so on my desktop PC im getting about 190 to 207 Mbps when i run a test, no big deal its perfect but when i try to run a speed test on anything in my living room i cant seem to get over 20Mbps, so i tried taking the line out of the gigabit switch and bypassing it strait into my laptop and again not more than 20Mbps now note i went back to my office where the router is and i took the cable that goes to my living room and went directly to my modem with it went back to laptop to run test again and now i get just over 100Mbps, so seems like my Cat 5e cable is good and that the router seems to be limiting my speeds somehow, can anyone else help with this issue? what could possibly be the issue here? sorry for all of the back and fourth stuff but i was trying to give as much description as i could with my systemSolvedWireless repeater function missing - now what do I do?
I just moved to a new place. The front and back of the apt are a fair distance from each other. The N750 router's in the back of the building, wifi is weak in the front. Stringing ethernet cable is not an option so so I planned to use a spare N600 as a repeater in the front If I'm reading forum posts correctly, the repeater function has been discontinued. Is this true? Why? More important, what do I do now to get decent wifi in the front of the house? Is setting up another cable modem connection a possibility? There is a Comcast cable in the front, can I set it up there? If so, can I use the same name? Any help on where to go from here is much appreciated. EdBSolved
