WNDR3400V3, been solid and working for a long time, Home environment, Win8.1. wifi working ok, updated firmware to 1.0.1.18_1.0.63, was at a very recent level, seemed to go ok, no other changes. All wifi devices fail to connect, no error msgs, devices connect to other networks. Both radio leds are lit on the router, recycled wifi anyway, no joy. Did a hard reset, no symptom changes, acts like wifi function died completely. Regressed to older firmware version, hard reset, showed update available, downloaded the firmware update again, update seemed ok, hard reset, still no wifi support at all, either radio. Any ideas? Acts like wifi simply gone. All visual indicators look good. My simply be hardware failure.SolvedR9000 - Can't turn off WiFi using hardware on/off button
I have a Netgear Night Hawk X10 R9000 I purchased a couple of months ago, and I’m having some issues with the Wi-Fi button on the front......the 2nd button from the right, next to the WPS button. When I press and hold down the button for two seconds, the button lights up along with the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and the four antennas......but here’s where it gets interesting. When I again press and hold down the WiFi button (2nd from the right), the button light goes out, the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and the antenna lights go out, BUT.....the WiFi is still active on both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands (I still have WiFi Internet!!). Consequently, how could I still have WiFi Internet if the lights on the antennas are off, and the 2.4 and 5GHz lights are off also? The only way I’ve found to turn off the WiFi is to turn off the SSID broadcast for both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands in the router setup, but this is a real pain. I’ve updated to the latest firmware, but still no fix. NOTE: I’m NOT using the WPS feature / button; whereas, I’ve never got it to sync to any of my WiFi devices. Any suggestions or fixes?Solved3.9KViews0likes4CommentsHardwire the EX7000 instead of wirelessly connecting to the router?
I’m going to try my best to explain my current situation as best as possible since I’m not entirely tech savvy or literate. My current situation is that there are devices that need to be hardwired but the devices are located in separate rooms. One device in my room and one in my brother’s. Now I know that I can use the EX7000 to wirelessly connect to my router and just use the Ethernet ports but doing that cuts down on download speeds. So I was wondering if I can use the Ethernet port in my room and plug the extender into that so I won’t have to wirelessly connect to the router? The current set up is that we have Frontier FiOS and the ONT box is located in our garage. Not sure what that means but the employee from BestBuy said it acts as the modem so that all the Ethernet ports our house can support a router without the need of an actual modem. So currently, all we currently have the Nighthawk X6 plugged into the Ethernet port in my brother’s room and is producing a Wifi signal with internet. We now both have desktops that have no Wifi adapters. So in order to use the internet on our computer we need to be wired. We used to share a room so it was never a problem since the router was in our room but now that we have our own rooms, he kept the router while I have no possible way of accessing internet via wired connection. Since we both game, we prefer a wired connection overall for the best performance. Hence the reason why we never purchased a Wifi adapter for our PC. While trying to look up a solution for my problem, I was constantly seeing answers like using the EX7000 as an access point. However, instructions say to plug it in to a router, which defeats my purpose of buying the extender in the first place since the extender would need to be located in my brother’s room. So long story short, can I hardwire the EX7000 using the Ethernet port in my room so that it can provide internet to my devices that need to be hardwired into the extender?7.1KViews0likes4CommentsEX6150 WiFi range extender drops connection for a few seconds very often.
I have the latest firmware. I'm located a floor above my router and use the EX6150 so that I can get a stronger connection in my room. I've noticed that every hour or so, the connection will drop for a few seconds and then reconnect. I used to own the EX6100 and I never had this problem before. Does anyone have any idea as to what is happening here and why this is happening with the new extender but not the old one? I know that it isn't the extender itself because I also own an EX6400 and the same issue occurs. Things I've tried: - Updated to the latest firmware. - Switched Wifi channels. - Removed devices from my network. - Moved the extender to be slightly closer to my router. - Reset the extender. - Reset the router. - Replaced the ethernet cable the extender connects to my PC with. - Replaced the power strip. I'm really at a loss.1.3KViews0likes1CommentR8500 how to unlock wifi region
I've just unlocked a R8500 bought in US and now working in EU. You know that all the router wifi that are selled in US market have wifi region locked to United States or North America, but I've found a solution putting togheter ideas from community. You should connect not in wifi but wired to your router and for me have worked and if you try is at your risk if you are not sure stop youself. Step 1: You should enable Telnet on your R8500 and the solution is http://routerlogin.net/debug and you check as active the Telnet check box. Step 2: On you computer you have Telnet active, on Linux is by default on Windows 10 it's an add-on that you can activate from app / program installation Step 3: Assume you are now on Win10/8/7 you should activate command window with CMD Step 4: Activate at prompt the Telnet Step 5: The first Telnet command is "open" "IP address" of your R8500 and user and password as usual I've not tried routerlogin.net but I suppose that is working Step 6: at prompt command "burnsku" to check the actual configuration that should be "0x0001" Step 7: at prompt command "burnsku 0x0002" and you unlock the wifi region selection, you should give the "burnsku" to check the upadte a 0x0002 Step 8: Restart your R8500 and your Wifi region is now unlocked and you can choose your location.Solved8.5KViews2likes2CommentsEX6920 AC1200 range extender
Is there a trick to connect the range extender to the 5 ghz band? Range extender only connects to the 2.4 ghz which is b/g/n. Tried pushing WPS button twice, per directions. Reset devices, no joy. Defeats the purpose of extending AC signal if the extender to router link is b/g/n. Network details and perf testing below: Router is NETGEAR R6400. Range extender is NETGEAR EX6920. All devices have been updated with most recent updates (as of 1/21/18). WIFI performance when connected directly in same room as router using Speedtest app: 5ghz network: 104.77 mbps 2.4ghz network: 36.89 mbps WIFI performance when connected to extender near upstairs office area, also using Speedtest app: 15.89 mbps best performance testing over both the 2_GEXT and 5_GEXT Again, the extender is pushing out both 2.4 and 5 ghz signal but it will only connect on the 2.4 band to the router which degrades the performance.688Views0likes2CommentsAc750 dual band wifi range extender

I currently have a Windows 10 computer connected by Ethernet cable to my R7000 router. The computer currently connects to my printer's one USB port. When I change use of that USB port to connect to the router, will the cabled computer be able to access the printer through the Ethernet-to-router-to-printer route? My purpose is to print with my WiFi laptops.Solved4.1KViews0likes5Comments
