WNDR3700v3 where can I download firmware v1.0.0.40_1.0.32?
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30632
This KB entry lists the routers/firmware versions that are impacted by the Web GUI Password Recovery and Exposure Security Vulnerability.
Along with a long list of vulnerable routers, it includes: WNDR3700v3 v1.0.0.40_1.0.32
WNDR3700v3 is the router that I currently use. However my router currently shows its firmware as: V1.0.0.38_1.0.31
Netgear's support site downloads show WNDR3700v3-V1.0.0.38_1.0.31 as the most recent version available and when I run a check for updates it says I already have the most current version.
Is v1.0.0.40_1.0.32 the only vulnerable firmware version for this model or does the vulnerability apply to earlier firmware versions for this model as well?
Have they recalled this version of the firmware and that is why it does not show up?
Should I not be trying to get this "latest" version and just stick with my current version (particularly if it is not vulnerable)?
Hello sweaver
Welcome to the community!
It was pulled out because it has the known vulnerability and that's why the latest fw posted is 1.0.0.38.
The vulnerability is only on version 1.0.0.40.
