WNDR4500 unable to connect to wifi

I have an iPhone with iOS 16.6.1. I've tried to connect to my WNDR4500 router wirelessly, but I got an error message saying "unable to connect to the network", even though I had the correct passkey. The problem seemed to temporarily go away when I turned the router off for a few minutes and on again. Is there a problem with the router?

Firmware Version
V1.0.1.46_1.0.76

  • I think your iOS is too new for the router or your router is too old for your phone.

    1. what modem/gateway do you have?

    2. what firmware is on the router?

Sadly, that just reduces the search to maybe a dozen or so devices that Frontier has supplied over the years, rather than hundreds of possibilities.

Most of these things have a label on with the make and model number.

        What are they?

Did you check the iOS advice?

What makes you think that the router is the issue?

By the way, the WNDR4500 dates back to 2013 and is several generations behind current wifi technology.
