WNR2000 v2 does NOT deliver 100 mbps port speed

I got a 100/10 mbps plan and I notice that with the WNR2000 v2 on wired connection (cat 5e and cat 6), it's always capped at 75/10 mbps.

However, when I use my ISP's gigabit router/modem, I get 130/10 mbps.

Why does my netgear router's port speed not achieveing it's rated specs?

ISp router/modem

  • I would assume that you're using ethernet connection only.

The LAN port on WNR2000v2 can handle 10/100Mbps but in reality you cannot achieve the exact speed or more than 100Mbps.

You were able to reach more than 100 with the modem 'cause the modem's port is gigabit.

It's a decent speed for that old model.

Do you have the latest firmware installed?

Try to do a factory reset after then see if it will improve.

Just on the side note, you may want to see this chart.

      Yes.

I tried doing a factory reset like you said, and suprisply that fixed it i think. I was able to get 88 mbps constantly from speed test. I restored my backup settings before the factory reset and it went back to 75 mbps. Very strange, no idea what setting is causing this.

Try to reset again and just manually input the settings.
