wnr2000 wired devices not connecting
two wired devices—neither working regardless of port.
several wireless devices—all working.
indicator lights on front of router are illuminated.
app lists them connected.
neither of the wired devices can be reached.
suggestions?

Sounds like the ethernet ports might have died on it. What I would try is to do a hard reset by pressing the reset button for 30 seconds and see if that fixes it but it will be reset back to factory defaults and you'll have to redo your wifi password and set up. Otherwise your wired connections might not work anymore.
is there any other test (maybe some sort of loopback) that can be done before a factory reset?

What are they?
The JWNR2000 is an ancient (~2009) down market router with slow (100 Mbps) Ethernet and WAN ports.
