"WPS is in Process" unable to change any router settings, WPS is disabled

Did anyone ever find a solution to this one?  The router works but I can't change any settings on it because "WPS is in process, please try again later."  "Add WPS client" is grayed out because it's disabled, and nothing flashes if I hit the WPS button on the router.  I've tried turning off and holding the reset buttons (pinhole one included) for 15 seconds.  The router works fine, I just can't change anything at all in the setup and reseting the router doesn't seem to reset it.  Was there ever a solution to this?   Firmware version is V1.0.0.28NA.

  • I made a glimmer of progress, reverting to the oldest firmware allows me to make changes to the settings without the error, but once I upgrade again to the latest firmware or any newer firmware the errors are back.

Just to confirm, what's the exact model number of your NETGEAR router?

Try to do a hard reset by following the steps below.

      1. With the unit powered on, press and hold the reset button on the back of unit for 30seconds.
      2. Without releasing the reset button, unplug the unit and hold reset for another 30 seconds.
      3. Power on the unit while STILL pushing the reset button and count for another 30 seconds before letting it go.

After resetting the router, you should be able to reconfigure the router and make any changes.
