2.4Ghz AP not working

I have a R7900P — Nighthawk X6S AC3000 Tri Band WiFi Router. After a recent firmware update the 2.4ghz band ap will not activate. I have down reverted to older firmware, done a factory reset, power cycles, everything I could think of. None of this has worked and I can't find anything about this specific issue online. I imagine its time to replace this router as it is quite old, but I have hopes maybe I am just missing something.

    Last resort maybe a 30-30-30 reset. 

    IF this fails, then maybe time to find something new. This model is EoL. 

     

    One could just disable the wifi radios on this router and then connect up a different wifi system in AP mode while leaving the router portion of the R7900P going if it's still working for you.
