AC2600 internet connection stops mysteriously

My router started acting weird 2 weeks ago. I thought it was my internet provider that's broken, but turns out the modem has full internet when I connect directly to it, but only my router lost data connectivity (wireless and hardwire).

First few times I had to reboot the router, but last couple times when I re-connect the router to the modem (after i tried to troubleshoot), it instantly regain internet connectivity without a reboot.

The internet connectivity will hold up to 12-24 hr min. This last time held up to a few days, after I factory reset the modem (not the router). I haven't done anything significantly different during the 2 weeks - WFH, IPTV, XBOX. Most of the time it dropped connectivity overnight, but couple times I was right in the middle of something and internet was gone.

Anyone can suggest where I should look next?

It's not firmware, since it's set to auto-update and it's at 1.2.0.76

What is your (unspecified) "the modem"?  Why not reset the router?

At the LEDs on the router?  At the router User Manual?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.  Look for the
    LED descriptions and "Troubleshoot".

And new firmware never introduces new problems?

V1.2.0.76_1.0.1 is old enough that it shouldn't be causing any
    problems since "2 weeks ago".

I will take a look at the lights the next time when the router disconnect again.

I did reset the modem - hitron CDA3-20, but also rebooted the router. The only thing I haven’t done is factor reset my router (which will be a pain to reconfigure everything, but if I have to.. lol)

Question: I remember reading somewhere that if the router got too much traffic, it might get hung up. Wondering if anyone knows how to trace that? The log function under the advance menu doesn’t seem to be that helpful.

Well it just went down again. I checked the lights, and it only showed red for the internet connectivity. Everything else looks good, including the modem.

The only thing I did to "fix" the situation is unplug the cable from the Ethernet port, and plug it back in. 2 seconds later everything flows again.

        Any suggestions?? antinode
