Admin password reset Nighthawk AX6000 cax80

I purchased a used modem router. Works great but can’t complete setup on app because I can’t reset admin password. I pressed reset button on rear for 30s. Still says (admin/password) are not correct. Please help. Thanks

    have you tried logging in through the browser and not the app? 

    default login is: admin

    default password: password

     

    try using the browser. 

    also, when you reset, did you push and hold while the device was powered on?

    If plemans answer doesn't match your circumstances, perhaps you could tell us a bit more about what you mean by "can’t complete setup on app".

     

    I ask because while, as plemans says, apps are a poor way to set up a device, they can have their uses after you set something up. You can then hit a different sort of  "can’t complete setup" because you second hand device is already registered for Anywhere Access on the Netgear Cloud. If you do come up against that one, you may need "divine intervention" in the shape of moderator help.
