Bridge mode with 802.11ad on Nighthawk x10 R9000
Hello, I was wondering if we can use 802.11ad on x10 to form a bridge between two x10 routers? Thanks, Mihir

Depends if the other supporting AD router supports wireless bridge mode.

There is no point in bridding AD as the range is not even 20% of 5ghz. It cant penetrate walls . it has to be in the same room more over line of site.
I guess your testing is only going to work if both the routers are in the same room line of site and you cant do a wired . But it too much costly affair .
You could get x4 7300 extender which will give you 1500+ connection rate which is equals to 1gbs/s

Bridding? :smileyfrustrated:
Possible to use these in close range with maybe one wooden wall in between and about 20 feet distance.
1500+ connection rate which is equals to 1gbs/s< This is only a connection rate between the 7300 and the connecting device. Does not mean data thru put will reach 1Gbs. Current wireless can't achieve that rate..yet. Maybe on a good AD connection. Again, also depends on client device and what it supports.

It is proven the wireless client reach 50% rate of transfer if in good qulity signal and more to that will be only if the distance and obstacle are minimal.
yes i believe with quad band connected client can achieve not near 1gbs but for sure 700+ if the connection rate is 1.5+gbps
But need to test it see.

Unlikely. 802.11ad requires unobstructed line of sight.
