c7000 modem opening ports for tmobile cellspot UDP123, 500, 4500

I found this community very helpful and did many steps, but still not working.

Problem: LAN wired the Tmobile cellspot and early step asks to ensure ports UDP 123, 500 and 4500 are opened. Doesn't go beyond that.

Following various chats:

1) I can see the mac address under basic tab>attached devices>wired devices so I know the cable connection is good

2) Following instructions on pg 67 I reserved or created a LAN IP address. under advanced>setup>lan setup. it randomly assigned 14 so I just forced it 114. fairly certain I did this correct since the new 114 ip address now shows up in the attached devices.

3) following instructions on page 98 I did port forwarding for the new address. I tried the range, but was giving me issues with UDP123. so I wound up doing each one individually. advanced>advanced setup>port forward/port trigger

4) confirmed UPnP is on

At this point frustrated since I "think" I did everything okay. I've rebooted both modem and cellspot and still hangs up early with the same code. the only thing I was guessing was when I added the port forwarding I chose FTP from the pulldown. had other options.

next steps?

  • Two quick updates.  The personal Tmobile cellspot is Alcatel-Lucent 9961 Homecell VI

and I tried under advanced>setup>WANT setting up a DMZ for my defined cellspot ISP. Still don't have the ports open. what am i missing?

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Cable Modem products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Cable modems and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:
