Cannot access my two 5 Ghz channels.

I am unable to access my two 5Ghz channels on my tri-band Nighthawk R8000 router. (Firmware V1.0.4.84_10.1.84, Windows 10, home environment). This disconnects all my smarhome devices, where I will have to use candles for reading. My NEST thermostat will no longer connect, and baby, it's cold outside.

I use an Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 16.3 installed.

This all came about after in internet outage which lasted nearly two hours.

I truly appreciate any assistance.

Thank you!

What modem/ONT, brand name and model number, is connected upstream of the R8000?

When you say, unable to access, do you mean the SSID's from your R8000 do not show up on your client devices or are they there and you cannot access the internet when connected?

Do you have any devices connected to your R8000 via Ethernet cable?  Do they have access to the internet?

Is there a chance you accidentally turned off the manual switch for the Wi-Fi radios?  The second indicator in from the right is a combination indicator/switch.  Push and hold for two seconds to turn the Wi-Fi back on.

Did you reboot the whole network? First modem and then router.

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

    • Turn off and unplug modem.
    • Turn off router and computers.
    • Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    • Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    • Turn on computers and rest of network.
