Cannot Reset Admin Password
Also having this exact issue. I've tried Chrome, Safari, incognito/private browsing, clearing cache, rebooting both PC and the router... still cannot get past the S/N entry. I can't even log in to the app on my phone anymore. Tried to check for router updates on my phone through the app, and it just times out.
I was also hoping not to have to do a hard reset, but looking more and more like that. I'm just worried it won't let me log in after that either.
I ultimately had to do a factory reset. To be fair, it’s not thaaaaaat much of a PITA if you set the network ID and password to what it was before. Most everything except my Google home thing connected back right away.

The Password Recovery option appears when an incorrect password has been entered three times in a row.
i.e. the user name is always "admin" (lower case) and the password is whatever value was entered when the product was configured.
Note that these web credentials are NOT
- The same as the WiFi credentials, and NOT
- The same as the 'app' login credentials (which are the Netgear account login - usually an email address, and a password)

This often happens when after entering the router Serial Number, the user is not able to provide answers to security questions that match what was supposed to have been set up when the router was originally configured. Many times, the user sped through that configuration page and did not realize that the intent was to deliberately click on one of the "down arrows" and select a question. Enter the answer to that question. Then, select the "down arrow" to pick another security question and enter the answer.
When the user skipped over this step, it is impossible to proceed without a Factory Reset. (Trust me. I did this myself several years ago and was seriously frustrated.)
