Changing PPPoE to IPoE on Nighthawk X8

Hi

I was on telstra velocity and had to migrate to their opticomm network. I previously had the Nighthawk AC5300 x8 router set up as PPPoE but this does not work with opticomm. I have done some research and it seems I need to change to IPoE but this option does not show up on the internet settings page. I only see PPTP, PPPoE or L2TP. Is there a way I can change this and if so, would really appreciate some guidance or steps as to how to do this.

Thanks.

  • Specify an Internet Connection Without a Login.

Does your Internet connection require a login? setting, leave the No radio button selected.

Select an Internet IP Address radio button: Get Dynamically from ISP. Your ISP uses DHCP to assign your IP address. Your ISP automatically assigns these addresses.

For IPv6, rom the Internet Connection Type menu, select DHCP.

Thanks for your response. No, we no longer require a login for opticomm (we did for velocity). I will try your suggestions and see how I go. Appreciate your time.
