check Firmware Error

I've never downloaded a firmware update to my R7000 router.  When I purchased it, the big thing was Genie.  Now everything is done through the Nighthawk App.  My current firmware is v1.0.8.34.  When ...

Most likely the system won't update since it's kind far behind so ya, you'll need to manually update:

Does your PC have a ethernet port? Can connect the ethernet port to the back of the router then connect to the routers web page to manually update using a web browser.

They make inexpensive USB to ethernet adapters as well if your PC doesn't have a Ethernet port.

    Thank you.  I'm working the ethernet problem now.  My laptop is 12 years old and i'm not sure the ethernet port even works lol.
