Compatible Modems from Charter for NetGear r7000 nighthawk
Is there a list of compatible modems for the R7000 Netgear Nighthawk? I have Charter, and I am wondering if the modem is not compatible.

If there is such a list I've never seen it. I would expect any charter supported Docsis 3 modem would work.

Thanks. This router is set up, but once you are connected you can't get out to the internet.

I had problems setting it up with my Comcast modem. Showed wifi but wouldn't connect. Spent an hour with Comcast and almost the same with Netgear and nothing worked.
Did some research and someone recommended using an ethernet switch. Had an old one in a box that I tried. One line from my modem to the routher, one line to the hub and from the hub, connected my PC and XBox. Reset the modem and router and everything works perfectly.

So it turns out it was not getting DNS servers from Charter. I set them to manual in the netgear's webpage, on google's DNS IP's 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and then everything worked fine.
