Configuring Modem Nighthawk X4S AC2600 Smart WiFi Router Model RC8700

I need to reconfigure the router.

I reset the router. (using the reset switch & paperclip)

I can login with name and password.

Followed by serial number.

Now I'm being asked (Router Password Recovery ?) questions about 1) my birth city and 2) my father's name

A reset should reset all, none hardware based, information.

I should be being given the opportunity to establish the answers to the silly questions.

 

How do I get to the configuration settings for this router?

    I was able to figure out how to get to the config settings and am now a happy camper.

    when you reset, push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its fully powered on. 

    then the defaul info is:

    login: admin

    password: password

     

    all lower case

    Is this the C7800 modem or R7800 router?
