Can I direct specific devices to desired radio channels(2.4ghz or 5ghz)? Why does a device show connected to the router when it has been dead for weeks?

btw i have a Nighthawk X6 R8000
If you're using smart connect, devices can switch between the 2 bands.
If you're wanting devices on certain bands, you can disable smart connect and choose which to connect to.Not sure what you mean about a device being dead for weeks. a little more detail might help on that one
i mean the device, a tablet, is dead as in has not been charged or used in weeks.
