Connecting extender to router
I have a Netgear AC1200 WiFi Router, model R6120. I bought a Netgear Wifi Range Extender AC1200, mdl EX6110
Followed instructions for WPS (wtf is that?) for two steps and got stuck/supified. Step # 2 says ....within two minutes push WPS button on router. NO WPS BUTTON on my router. Only buttons avaialbe are on/of and reset. So what now?
Then I tried Netgear Installation Asst. Again a brick wall.....step one: connect to your extender and device LED lights. So far so good. #2 says launch a web browser. Can't do that 'cause extender not hooked to router yet. Well duh. #3yad yada. #4 ...follow the prompts to connect your extender to existing wifi. how in the hell does one go on the internet with an extender that isn't hooked to the router?

If you're struggling with the installation using the WPS setup method, you could always use the installation assistant.
Tends to work better in my opinion.
