Correct setting wireless selection
when using my phone at home to view Utube....phone showing connected to the 2.4G band...is this correct or should connection be to the 5G band ?

This depends on your mobile device. Does it have a 5Ghz radio?
If you are going for raw performance and the device has a 5Ghz radio, this band will give best performance from a speed perspective.
If you are looking for best broadcast range, the 2.4Ghz radio will perform best overall.
