    No. The Reader's Digest version...  Port speeds are based on the network adapter, of the device that is connected to a LAN port  (speed is negotiated between both) on a router / switch  (LAN ports operate independently on the router). Port speed is also dependent on the Ethernet cable being used - ie: Using a CAT5 (up to 100Mbps) cable vs. using CAT5e, CAT6  up to 1Gbps, in your routers case. Always use CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cables, and you'll be fine.
