External antenna with Nighthawk MR2
Hi,
I have purchased a Nighthawk MR2 4G Router for use in may Motorhome. It works well, but I want to improve reception in zones of poor signal with an external antenna. the antenna will be fitted on the roof of the motorhome.
To do so, I've purchased à Poynting A Puck 2 antenna witch is an LTE 4G MIMO antenna that covers the frequency range of all providers in France. But, when I connect the antenna to the router, I see no difference whatshoever, and the signal level stay the same as with no external antenna. (From -99 to -111dB red from the router status signal strength)
So I'm wondering wether the external connectors of the router are intended for LTE signal or for wifi signal.
I didn't saw either any possibility of configuring the router for use of exetrnal antenna.
Does anybody knows about that router and the usage of the external antenna connectors ?
Thanks a lot,
Sylvain

- Burns1AspirantIt's as simple as just pulling this very carefully. So I've removed these two pigtail connectors so the next step is to mark two points on this case for me to drill the hole.

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the NG Smart Router products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with general routers and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:
