Firmware upgrade failed
I tried to update to the latest firmware tonight and halfway through the download it quit and showed an error icon. Now I can't do anything with the router. It won't connect to 192.168.1.1 (wired or unwired) so no chance to try the update again. I tried a factory reset, 30-30-30 reset, nothing helps. The power light is just continually blinking. Is it hopelessly dead?
Hooray for your help. There were a few glitches in the instructions but this is the one that worked: https://kb.netgear.com/000059633 . The one thing that was off was the link to download the Tftpd64 software was dead but I found it at https://bitbucket.org/phjounin/tftpd64.
I thank you all so much. It would have taken another 10 days to order a new router from Alaska.

You seem to be a candidate for the TFTP recovery scheme. See, for

For future reference, if you have Windows 10 there is no need to any download. Just enable the built-in tftp client. That's what Netgear now recommends.
