Hacked and locked out
Router R7000P, I was hacked and the person who did this changed the password and checked the box where I cannot go in and get the password to change it. I am completely locked out of my router. How can I get back in and why isn't this router more secure than this.

Which box is that?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Look for "Factory Settings".

I doubt that anyone here knows exactly how you were "hacked", or the
firmware version on your router, so i's not immediately clear how secure
"this" might be.

Possible you could try a factory reset and reset up the router, if you were hacked and locked out you should be able to get back in to it.
I would change the name and passwords used just in case.
