I have the same problem, my connection that comes from the phone line filter is only a DSL connection (not Ethernet) and the AC2300 Night Hawk does not have a DSL port only Ethernet ports.
Is there some kind of adapter or device that can connect these two together and have them work successfully?

Not really the same problem. But what is this AC2300?
AC2300 s not a reliable guide to model number. Many devices come with an AC tag, but that is essentially a label that Netgear, and other brands, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.
Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Something like R7000P or RS400.

You probably need a DSL modem. Your Internet service provider can advise you on the sort of thing that will work on its network.
The ideal DSL modem from Netgear is the DM200. The bad news is that Netgear, and most other brands, seem to have abandoned the market for DSL modem-only devices.
Most ISPs supply hardware, but many opt for modem/routers that can cause problems with separate routers.
