How to bridge R7200 over ethernet

I would like my 2nd floor  r7200 to extend the dhcp, etc from my Verizon router in the basement. I have ethernet between the two locations. I assume I want "bridging", but all the examples I have found are for bridging using wifi, not ethernet.

If that's not clear, or using the wrong terminology, I would like the Netgear to assign IP addresses from the Verizon router's pool, and forward traffic over the ethernet connecting the two.

Could someone be kind enough to point me to an example of how this would be set up?

Bridge mode for NG routers is all wireless bridging.

If you need ethernet connections in remote locations, the maybe a 1GB LAN switch is what your looking for for ethernet wired connections.

If the idea is for the R7200 to provide WiFi on the second floor, then put the R7200 into wireless access point (AP) mode and plug it into the ethernet from the Verizon router.

The Verizon router then does all the network management stuff while the R7200 provides WiFi and acts as a "switch" that connects things plugged into it back to the router.

Note the drawbacks in AP mode:

But you won't want the R7200 doing things that clash with the Verizon.
