I bought this from amazon
My is the XR1000, no idea why it wont let me add that.
But my problem is I bought this router off amazon. It is certified refurbished, but I cant confiq my settings because my serial number is logged into with another account. I sent an email to Customer.service@netgear.com who knows if ill hear anything back.
Can anyone here help me?

You don't need to register it to set it up and use it.
(can help with other services. And you did the correct thing in how to try to fix the problem)
Factory reset it by pushing and holding reset for 7-15 seconds while powered on.
Then follow the install guide.
You also might get better help in the forum for your device (as well as you might be able to select it)

Two possible reasons:
- Too new for Netgear's database
- You put your question in the wrong place so it didn't recognise your device.

Gaming routers have their own DumaOS operating system that is nothing like the one on Netgear's standard routers.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
