Is it possible to use my old Nighthawk R7000P as a Mesh router?

I am new to networking but this old dog is learning. I just purchased an ORBI system for my new home and look forward to setting it up soon. I purchased a Nighthawk R7000P AC2300 a few years ago for my niece and her family a few years ago but their coverage isn't the greatest since it is a big house.

My question is: Are there any options to add satellites to the Nighthawk R7000P router to make a mesh network and if so, what are the recommended satellites to make this home network happen?

I take it that none of the satellites will use the R7000P as their hub?

I don't know what you mean by that, but if you have a satellite with a LAN port, you can put the R7000P into wireless access point mode and use the wifi and Ethernet from that.

But it will not be a mesh system and will have its own SSID and password.

You can't use an R7000P as a satellite with an Orbi router.

    Orbi needs its own satellites.

You could use the R7000P as a stadalone wireless Access Point or in Bridge Mode.

If you visit the support pages:

you can feed in your model number and find the documentation for your hardware.
