Maximum internet connection speed of R7000?
Hello there! I have 5 Netgear R7000 routers (don't ask). They have given stellar sevice over the last 5 years or so. I had Spectrum 200down/10up for all this time and never had any issues with dow...

1. what firmware is on them?
2. are you or have you used access control, traffic monitoring, parental controls, or qos? If so, factory reset those devices. Test their speeds after a basic install. make sure not to enable those services.
3. how are you testing? many sites struggle to max out gigabit connections or pick a poor server to test off.

Thanks for the suggestions. No speed sapping options selected. Using speed.googlefiber.net, speedtest.net, fast.com, all the same and all give the full speed when the router is out of the curcuit. I'm using F/W v1.0.9.42 - yes, I know it's an older version but it has features I want and I'm not convinced that "updating to the latest firmware" is going to change anything. I might just give it a try as I can drop back to the older firmware, it just seems like a waste of time reading all of the relevant posts on this forum.
Are you getting gigabit internet speeds on your setup?

OK, so I broke down and updated the firmware on one of my routers. :smileyfrustrated: Speeds are a little better now (600 down, 400 up) but still not the 930 up/down that I get without the router in the circuit.
So, my original question is.... does anybody get gigabit (900+) dow/up speeds with their R7000 router?

As always, an actual version number would be more useful than your
opinion of what's "updated" today. And, on an R7000, its own opinion is
worth very little.- sktn77aAug 04, 2021Virtuoso

Not following you here, bud (?)
Firmware was update from 1.0.9.42 to 1.0.9.88 - the latest version available from the router interface (yes I know there's a more recent on on the support website, but is there a reason the router won't let you update it to this one? Who know with Netgear!)
